Designing the personality of intelligent assistance
What can we as designers learn about sustainability from the teachings of Indigenous people? For instance, more than how to use or conserve a particular resource but beyond a specific practice? In this session, we'll consider the role of language and storytelling in connecting us to a place and each other. In the words of Robin Wall Kimmerer (Potawatomi), "a place becomes a home when it sustains you, when it feeds you in body as well as spirit." Join us to learn more about how that’s the essence of sustainability.
Join this session to discover how Microsoft customers are increasingly engaged in experiences powered by algorithms and how designers need to go the extra mile to build trust with users. We’ll discuss how algorithms are never perfect and how certain types of failure are foreseeable. Learn how content designers are in a unique position to help mitigate risk and design AI experiences that adhere to the principles of responsible AI.
Learn how to build more transparent, user-friendly AI experiences as a content designer, based on fresh insights from our work on Bing chat and Copilot in Word. For each of these products, we’ll cover the product scenario and its unique challenges, what worked (or didn’t), where we landed, and future thinking--plus we'll offer ready-to-use practical guidance and patterns.
