Ivana is a Human Factors Engineer from the Applied Psychology and Neuroscience team within the Human Factors Center of Excellence. She has experience in the fields of neuroscience, human behavior, visual perception, and human-computer interaction, and is passionate about using the principles of neuroscience to better understand the relationship between technology and people. Prior to her current position, she worked at Facebook Reality Labs to develop perceptually accurate and comfortable mixed reality experiences. Currently, Ivana implements neuroscience methodologies to better understand emotions, mental states, and cognitive efforts of users interacting with various Microsoft products.
Design always has the challenge of subjectivity. We focus on user experience, storytelling, and emotional connections to pitch design ideas. They often can be counter by engineering teams through numerics, physics, and data. This is the beginning of how we can begin to qualify the emotion and begin to put the science and data behind the design experiences we create.
