Kelsey is a Human Factors Engineer from the Applied Psychology and Neuroscience team of the Human Factors Center of Excellence. With a background in cognitive neuroscience and behavioral psychopharmacology, she works to optimize product design by conducting human research studies. Using a variety of tools to measure physiological signals and brain activation, she aims to get “beneath the surface†and quantify experiences on a more fundamental level. Recently, Kelsey has also been exploring the neuromarketing of digital sales to make products more appealing for online consumers.
Design always has the challenge of subjectivity. We focus on user experience, storytelling, and emotional connections to pitch design ideas. They often can be counter by engineering teams through numerics, physics, and data. This is the beginning of how we can begin to qualify the emotion and begin to put the science and data behind the design experiences we create.
